13867082_1313666788652254_1385360642_nOn July 23, 2016 Daytime Stars Events hosted a fan event in Toronto.  Days of Our Lives actors, Billy Flynn, Eric Martsolf, and Rob Wilson appeared, with guest MC, Mark J. Freeman from Afterbuzz TV’s Dishin Days.  During this special fan fun-filled weekend, I had the privilege to interview all three featured actors, as well as Mark.  All four were charming and generous with their time and their answers.

Please enjoy the first of these interviews.  I hope you will get a kick out of learning more about your favorite stars, as much as I did!

It’s time to get to know a bit more about fan favorite, Robert Scott Wilson:

13874860_1313666851985581_1761543019_nCarolyn Topol Talk:  What was your first professional acting job?

Rob Wilson:  My first professional acting job was amazing.  I got to do an Improv scene w/Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars.  It’s still one of the top things on my IMDB.  I got called in, in Boston, and I shot it there. [You can find Rob’s IMDB page here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3238538/]

CTT:  So you are in Bride Wars?

RW:  Yeah — don’t blink, but I’m in it.  Towards the end of the film when they’re sabotaging each other, and it’s like the last straw, Kate Hudson airs, on the chapel wall, her hooking up with a guy drinking and partying — that’s me.

13672285_1313666861985580_862526872_nCTT:  Where do you see your career in 10 years; what would you like to be doing?

RW:  As long as I’m working I’ll be happy.  I’d like to produce my own stuff and shoot my own stuff.  You have to try to control the direction you want to go in or else you’ll end up kind of stuck.  To guess where I’ll be—I have no idea.

CTT:  Would you like to direct also?

RW:  Yes definitely!  I just wrote a couple of shorts and I wrote a web series that we’ve produced that’s on IMDB.  It’s called “Bros”; it’s a funny web series.

CTT:  What was your favorite Days storyline?

RW:  The end for Ben.  It was like night and day. It went from not really being written for to having a whole bunch written for.  I’m very grateful for that cause I learned so much.

13867051_1313666875318912_1677206476_nCTT:  If you could play any role in theater, film, or television, who would it be?

RW:  That can go in so many directions.  I would love to do a Wall Street III.  I would love to do something with Michael Douglas or something that’s a  Wolf of Wall Street style.  I’d love to work with Leo [DeCaprio] or Martin Scorsese. They’re the dream guys — the best, in my opinion.  I’d like to play a Wall Street type — like a vicious Wall Street type.

CTT:  If you had no career restrictions, and could move anywhere in the world, even for a short period of time, where would it be and why?

RW:  At this stage I’d just want to be everywhere.  I just want to travel, so in a perfect world I don’t think I’d want to be stationed anywhere.  I’d like to be able to live where I want and take my life with me — my family; make sure my mom’s good, my girl’s good, my dogs are with me and I’ll be good.  I can live anywhere.  I love going to new cities and finding new cities.  Who knows where I’d really want to settle in?

CTT:   If for some reason you could no longer be an actor, what alternate career would you choose?

RW:  I’d go into a Wall Street field.  I think you can still perform and still act on Wall Street.  There’s a high from that, so I could enjoy doing something like that.

13872520_1313666925318907_667232179_nCTT:   You’re so good to your fans, and participate in many events — what drives you to continue to do these events?

RW:  We get so much from the fans (agreeing with sentiments expressed by Eric Martsolf), and it’s a chance to put a face with a name.  I get to hear from so many fans due to social media so to be able to do this while I still can, I have to take advantage of it and meet them.  To put a face with a name and spend some quality time with them because, for anybody who wants to pay money to see me, it blows my mind and I’m so grateful for that.  I never would have imagined I’d be here doing this whether it be Toronto or Boston or New York, or right down the street in LA.  I’m just grateful.  I owe them [the fans] at least that — I owe them that for sure!

CTT:  Can you tell us anything about your upcoming projects and when we might see you again on either the small or large screen?

RW:  I recently did two films — one I’ve just finished re-shoots.  It’s finished now and on IMDB—it’s called Papa.  It’s got a gang of awesome actors — David Proval, Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, Frankie Avalon is in it, Paul Sorvino, Mischa Barton, Eric Roberts—it’s got a great cast.  The other one is I Know Where Lizzie Is, with one of the women from our show, Nadia [Bjorlin], she is in it as well.  I don’t know where it’s going yet.  It’s written as a Lifetime film but I don’t know where it’s going.  [Since this interview, Lifetime Movie Network revealed the film will air on Sunday, July 31st.]

The one I’m working on right now, that I just left Philadelphia for, it’s a horror film.  I can’t really give out the name yet.  It’s opposite anything I’ve ever done—close to a little Ben type—not the character, but the darkness.  It’s a very dark, slasher horror film but it’s, again, got awesome actors. I get to work with someone I grew up watching a lot.  Dylan Walsh from Nip Tuck is one of my favorite actors, and that was one of my favorite shows to this day. So that’s what I’m doing right now.

13874937_1313666948652238_1226376255_nCTT:  What is your favorite ice cream flavor? [A question I asked by request of my DOOL-fan daughter.]

RW:  I’m addicted to Ben & Jerry’s.  I just eat them all.  I like the core now, with the cookie in the middle—it kills me.  New York Super Fudge Chunk is incredible, Chunky Monkey, Cherry Garcia

CTT:  What is your favorite sport to watch and which one is your favorite to participate in?

RW:  To watch—football; I don’t get to play it all the time but we had a few runs back home with flag football.  I play basketball all the time and I love basketball too.  Eric and Rob both agreed Corn Hole was great too.  (They had to educate me as to what Corn Hole is—I only knew it as bean bag toss.)  Rob recalled Eric & Jen Lilley bringing a corn hole game to the downstairs dressing rooms and having fun playing.
