Chandler Massey Brings Will Back to Days — But How?

Spread the love

The big announcement of Chandler Massey‘s ushering Will Horton back to Days of Our Lives, is welcomed by fans around the world, Carolyn Topol Talk‘s team included!

The last time we actually saw Will Horton, portrayed at the time by Guy Wilson, he was being mourned by his devastated parents in a police morgue, having been strangled in full view of the audience.  The character’s death saddened Days fans, many of whom have been pleading with their soap powers-that-be to bring back the beloved legacy character.

Now that we know Will’s return is definite, and will be written by new Head Writer Ron Carlivati, in conjunction with creatives consultants Sheri Anderson & Ryan Quan, the guessing game as to how Will’s return will play out is the newest question. How do you think Will’s return will be written?  What do you think will bring the character “back to life”?

Let’s Talk!!!

  1. I read A LOT of, “Will is really alive” fanfic. A LOT. There are so many ways to do it but hopefully they will choose a way that erases the horrible writing that ruined the character before they murdered him.
Ex: Dimera doppleganger was the one who wrote all the crap stories (will would never have sided with his cheating, lying, home wrecker cousin over his mother – cheating/breaking up families was his one sticking point in life).
    or
they could choose to have had Andre inject him with whatever they gave EJ in the morgue so he didn’t die…he’s been in a coma or whatever the past year or so.

I’d prefer to erase the crap Dena gave us.
I think Ron can do it.
Either way, I’m just really glad Will is back.

    • I can totally get behind erasing the “stuff” that made Will seem out of character to those who have watched him over the years. I wondered about the special injection. That would be a great way to bring back more than one character.

  2. Most are speculating Ron will simply rehash the Robin storyline from GH. Given that this is what soap writers usually do its the most likely scenario. Or a Dimera dopelganger (How many times we seen that?)

I’m not excited. As I’ve said for a long time, the real problem with soaps is that they haven’t done anything new or original in decades. They’ve been content to stick with the same writers who’ve been doing this for dog’s ages instead of hiring fresh talent & then they just change the names & press replay. Part of the reason WilSon was so successful in the first place was because it was something DAYS had never done before. It was new (at the time) and fresh. But now it’s old hat.

    BORING.

And yet they wonder why viewers have run away in droves.

    • I hope the writers will be able to come up with some good drama that will engage the audience. I’m counting on it! 🙂

  3. If the “real” Will didnt die, then the marriage and wedding would be a fake..so it will be interesting to see what happens

  4. First I’m going to rant about how horrible Guy Wilson was treated by some fans of Chandler. Then, Corday and the writers didn’t help Guy win fans by having Will cheat and then the silly, ridiculous scheming. I know that Corday and the writers had a different opinion on where to take the character and that showed in the writing. These same “delusional” fans actually blamed Guy for Will’s mistakes. Paul Narita was the interloper – he should have been made the bad guy. Of course with the incredible chemistry Guy and Christopher had, maybe Horita should have been end game.
Will Horton is one of my favorite all time soap characters. He’s a double legacy. Killing him was one of the worst mistakes in Days history. He should have been redeemed and paired up with Paul. Then Sonny would have returned from Paris to find that the table had been turned on him.
I have not watched Days since Will’s death. I’m looking forward to Will’s return and I will support Chandler in the role – just as I did before he left and Guy took over. I have soured on WilSon though. Actually I would rather see Will move on from Sonny, work on his insecurities, then find a new love. I know Carlivati won’t do that – I’m sure the plan will be to put Will and Sonny back together (sigh).

    • I think a lot of #WilSon fans feel the same way as you do. It would have been interesting had a relationship with Paul & Will been explored. I look forward to having Will back in Salem and seeing where Ron Carlivati takes the character. Thank you so much for sharing this!

  5. Personally, I think it’ll be too risky for the writers tobring him back as the “real” Will be ause if the wedding and everything else didn’t happen then it would effect loads of characters storylines.
Don’t get me wrong, I was thinking a similar thing like maybe they would go all the way back to when Will got shot and say that it was actually Sonny that got shot and he has been in a coma dreaming all of this but again, it would effect too many situations and character storylines.
I think they will just do something simple like write him back in to it like they got the wrong body or something stupid. I’m more interested in how the hell Ari and Sonny are going to be. Like, Ari’s confusion hahaha.
Lets be honest though, bringing Chandler back is a step in the right direction, he was one of the best actors on the show. He still is my favourite actor. Love him. Can’t wait for September.

    • I love your creative thinking. I’m not sure how Will will be brought back but I personally hope that his disappearance was after the wedding so he and Sonny are still married… and would bring along lots of the associated complications on his return. Gotta love that daytime drama! lol Thank you for chiming in with your thoughts.
