The Bold and the Beautiful has continued to tackle a number of difficult social and emotional issues from both a personal and a societal perspective.

Recently, B&B revisited Katie Logan’s (Heather Tom) battle for her very sanity!  Although previously thought of as overly dramatic and exaggerative, Katie’s worst nightmare and predictions have come to pass.  Her husband, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and her sister Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) have reunited.

Heather Tom’s performance, as Katie intuitively sensed the building passion between her sister and husband reigniting, has been outstanding.  Katie’s spiral back into the depths of depression and alcoholism are heartbreaking.  It is impossible not to feel a wide array of emotions, from pity to sadness to, possibly, disgust.  Watching Katie witness, and have a role in, the destruction of her second marriage to Bill is like the proverbial train wreck — the viewer can not turn away.

It’s questionable as to how Katie will be able to survive and become whole again after this most recent betrayal.  What do you think?  Were you moved by Heather Tom’s performance?
